muovo + old tom foolery

one day when ac and i have a bigger home, we plan on adding another furry friend to our family- more specifically, a dog. so whenever i see cute dog beds i get little “i want a dog!” pains in my stomach that make me head over to petfinder looking for a friendly face to rescue. until that day comes, i’ll keep on loving things like this- a colorful new pet bed from muovo. muovo is a design studio in helsinki founded by textile designers anni kääriä and sanna väänänen. on a mission to “design products that put you in a good mood”, anni and sanna recently released a dog bed and footstool design made of detachable, machine-washable cotton. what i love about the dog bed is that it’s inflatable- so you can travel with it! if you’ve got a fuzzy friend that needs a soft place to sleep, click here to check out muovo’s products online.

when it comes to cards, i tend to stay away from the humorous variety. i’m more of a decorative/blank-inside type of gal. but i’m loving these new “headlines” cards from old tom foolery. each card has a simple (and funny) message and comes with a bright red envelope. you can check out all 16 new styles on the old tom foolery site right here. thanks, lauren!

I’m the exact opposite – I spend HOURS (ask my husband, lol) in the card aisle searching for the perfectly sarcastic but still sweet sentiment. I love these from Tom Foolery!

oh you’re killing me with the doggie! i’m dying for a puppy! i spend way too much time on petfinder!

i love both the inflatable dog bed (genius!) and the newspaper greeting cards. but since one is almost $200 and the other closer to $3, you can guess which one i’ll end up with :)

Thank god I’m not the only one with a doggie version of a biological clock!

My husband and I just bought a “fixer-upper” house from the early 1800s so I have a while to wait, but as soon as it’s in the right condition for a puppy we also plan on extending our “family.”

I have to admit, I get on petfinder all the time, even though I know all the dogs currently listed will probably be gone by the time we’re ready! I even follow the blog of a local puggle (www.prestonthepuggle.com). I think my husband is worried for my sanity :)

Ummm… Fab pet bed, funny cards… but really… that dog! Sorry to deviate from the true subject matter, but anyone know what breed that might be? P.S. DesignSponge rocks.

good for you for waiting till you have more space to get a dog! my boyfriend didn’t get the memo about that and cute or not, our dogs make our little city apartment miserable

Aw, come on! My husband and I have three dogs in our tiny Park Slope apartment – I’m sure you can squeeze in one! This is the best neighborhood to own a dog in, I think – the Prospect Park off-leash hours are fun.

That pet bed is awesome.

sadly we have 2 cats that wouldn’t be happy with that choice. but if we had a larger place and more room for them to peacefully co-exist, we totally would. we just can’t justify it in this small space. they’d all kill each other ;)

Anyone knows the dog breed? It´s so cute!
D*S rocks!!! I read it every day at work :)

LOVing these cards. (And as the pack leader of two dogs – I’ll tell you I can hardly resist a well made, pretty, functional dog bed … the husband & I even made a cedar dog bed for our deck — I made the puffy cushion with outdoor fabric (to match our other outdoor furniture), while he made the wooden frame.

Teresa

Btw… the dog looks like my neighbors “Schnoodle” — a Schnauzer and Poodle mix. They are supposed to be good dogs for people with allergies – very little shedding.

Teresa

btw… I should amend my Schnoodle comment — it looks like their Schnoodle AFTER he has had his hair cut. (I swear – it was like night and day – he was so fluffy one day – and the next, he looked like this adorable guy.)

Rachel

PS: We have three dogs in a tiny, tiny little house. You’ll make room in places you didn’t know you had any, like your heart (and under your desk).
