designer dana cannam of eindhoven recently released the final results of his project to create an environmentally friendly desk lamp. her “clamp lamp” is constructed from a solid maple base and a free-moving cantilevered LED strip. the entire system is compression fit without glue or screws holding it together. dana says the lamp “explores the concept of truth in design, where the main objective is to create an object which primarily utilizes the functionality of the [wood], rather than a system of foreign components”. i love the simplicity of it and the ease with which it is put together and deconstructed. you can contact dana and find more info on the clamp lamp right here.
