before & after: andreea’s home + dana’s bathroom

andreea_before
this home living room/dining room makeover comes from andreea avram rusu of avram rusu interiors in brooklyn. andreea and her team transformed this miami beach space into a bright, modern interior full of color and life. i tend to live a slightly less bright/modern lifestyle, but i envy homes like this sometimes for all of their simple, clean color. thanks for sharing, andreea!

inspired by orlando’s striped floor tile makeover, d*s reader dana of vicariously lovely decided to use affordable vinyl tiles from lowes to redo the bathroom in her shop, scavenger home. dana cut the tiles to create long rectangles and then laid them out in a herringbone pattern to mimic the classic wood floor look. i think the result is really fantastic for the budget restrictions and send dana a big thumbs up for the great work. click here to read more about her process.

For the Miami space, I LOVE the colors (the pattern on those chairs is amazing!) and the clean, white shiny! BEAUTIFUL!

Wow!
Further proof that you can get amazing results with cheap peel and stick tile!

Now if only my local hardware store had a better selection to choose from.

I’m soooo jealous of the Kartell chairs. I wish I could afford ONE.

I love the glossy ‘after’, too! The rooms are brighter and modern. Would love such a great change in my home too :).

Wow- while I love nearly all the homes featured on D*S, it is great to see the Miami space- such a change from those usually featured, and really oozes that Miami vibe. It doesn’t get much more Miami than the Chiang Mai from Schmaucher ( I think that’s the chair fabric). Awesome job!!

I am in love with those dining chairs, especially with how they tie in the beautiful glass shelf-backs.

I need to find some fabric like that. Any ideas?

oh, i need to know where that fabric is from! i love it :D tried the schmaucher website as mentioned, but its not the chiang mai fabric. any other guesses? :)

Lauren

Does anyone know where the round rug came from? It’s so much fun!

Emily

The modern “after” is nice, but the “before” was actually more to my taste. The bathroom floor, though, is great!

Can Andreea please share the source/material for the flooring of the Miami apartment? Love the look!

i love love love the living room transformation. we’re currently renovating our basement and already bought yellow and red paint colors. i love how the light grey and turquoise color go with the yellow and red in this!!! thanks for the inspiration!

nazmin

omg this is amazing!! LOVE IT! can you redo my whole house?!?!

Patrick

Dear Andreea,
Even if I said I Hate You in four languages (which I can) it still would not adequately convey my envy of this living room. Especially after seeing the “before” pics. The vibe is pure Miami Beach Deco, but its fresher than a lot I’ve seen and the scale is divine.
Lots of love,
Patrick
