this next before and after comes from one of my favorite makeover queens, barb blair at knack studios. i love the way she updated this wooden dresser with a weathered green finish. i know paint is not for everyone (if you have non-paint makeovers, please send them!) but i love a good update that gives an old piece of furniture new life in someone else’s home. thanks to barb for sharing!

LOVE IT! What I also would love– to see the rest of this room (or possibly, the house), I see amazing potential written all over this before and after!
That is just beautiful; the yellow knobs are fantastic against the green.
I always love seeing Barb’s makeovers!
This looks awesome! I love how some of the original color was allowed to show through.
For some reason the yellow knobs make this feel like something funky out of Alice and Wonderland, but I think it would look equally as nice and a little less stylized with some bronzed pulls.
i’m one of those people that prefers natural wood to paint, but i am also a person that LOVES green and this dresser is gorgeous!! i’ve been searching for this size dresser and when i find one i will be inspired by this makeover!!
Beautiful! I love seeing these stunning makeovers. So much better then just buying a pretty piece of furniture.
I have a major soft spot for furniture painted this color! I love it! Is there any way to find out the color and brand of the green paint she used?
So neat! This creativity inspires me to refinish some of my own pieces!!
Wow. Perfect.
I love the sizes of drawers in this piece and the knobs are a great choice.
This is really nicely done! The color combination is fabulous.
I love the yellow knobs! Where can I find them?
I’m not usually into painted furniture, but I really like this. It accentuates rather than masks the furniture, and I love the knobs (the chalkboard backdrop doesn’t hurt either).
i LOVE this!
Wow…Barb did it again! She has such an eye for color and her styling is so unique and fun. Just when I think I have seen the best from knack, she blows me away again. Creative genius at it’s best. Can’t wait to see she does next!
Any tips on how to achieve that worn finish?
mike you can use a couple different techniques, here’s a link to a post where we outlined some:

grace :)
This is adorable!!!!!!
I am the lucky owner of this dresser. It was delivered last week and is in my little girl’s room (isn’t she lucky). It is a beautiful piece and Barb’s work is amazing. I can’t wait to get another piece from Knack. :)
In my first comment I didn’t realize that this was a studio piece (guess I should actually read the article not just look at the pictures), but browsing over the Knack website–perfect! I’m even more impressed.
we work with Barb at Getzcreative Photography, and we were very lucky to snatch this dresser for two lovely photo shoots before it went off to it’s happy home! Barb posted some of the final photos from one of the shoots on her blog, and the other ones are soon-to-be-released :-) Her dresser made for some amazing pictures! http://knackstudios.blogspot.com/2009/12/trudies-big-photo-shoot.html
Brenna, I’m not sure if they’re exactly the same, but I have these knobs from Anthropologie, and they’re either very close or the same ones.

Brenna, I’m not sure if they’re identical, but I bought knobs at Anthropologie a while back that are either the same ones or very similar. I just checked their website, and they still have them. They’re called the Zinnia knob. Good luck!
hello friends!
thank you so much for all of your love for trudie……she was so fun for me to do and it was my first time using this green………but it will not not be the last!! This particular color is old fashioned milkpaint that comes in powder form and you mix it yourself…..you can totally customize your own color by how much you mix or by adding some white. I just used it straight though …..
as far as the knobs ……I got these particular ones from my trade source overseas ……{thank you girls for providing link to the anthro ones….they are fantastic!}……..and although these are different I do have a few left …….so brenna , depending on how many you need…….I could possibly have then for you. {barb@knackstudios.com is how you can reach me}
thanks again everyone…….and have a gret weekend!
xo
this is a great paint makeover in my opinion. i’n not so much a fan of adding other bells and whistles like a papered top. this fits the furniture piece perfectly and i love that color.
Thanks Sherry and Barb!
great to see a better after!! makes me happy
Such a gorgeous piece! We love the idea of it in a little girl’s room and can envision a bright gold-yellow wall paint to set off the beauty of the green. Maybe Benjamin Moore’s “American Cheese”. Just lovely!
I liked very very very much!!!
Congratulations!!!
I loved too the wall behind the mobile.
Elizabeth, I’m very jealous that you have Trudie. This is possibly my favorite dresser ever.
