The Rural Studio and Urban Studio programs are truely insprational. Making something awesome out of what ever you got is a time honored skill and craft, that has been progressed through the dedication of the students and faculty. This would not be nearly as successfull if it was not a “whole hearted”, 110% effort by everyone involved in the project. Thanks Rural Studio for providing some great inspiration.

WOW!! How excited to see AU’s program on design*sponge. I am currently an architecture thesis student in Auburn’s architecture program. This truly is a great program. It has touched SO many lives, and the founders, one of whom I knew personally were amazing individuals. Auburn also has an urban program in Birmingham, AL; the Urban Studio.Thanks for sharing all of these wonderful images. :-)

Mockbee is my hero, I’m so envious that you got to meet him. He’s a large part of the reason why I became an architect – I can only hope to make a fraction of the difference he made.

Rural Studio is AMAZING. I actually first heard about it through a book made by Mohawk Paper. It featured the students and many of their amazing projects. Very cool stuff.

(If there are any graphic designers out there, ask your paper rep if they have any Mohawk Options books about Rural Studio. They also made a similar book featuring Addidas.)
