good morning! i’m going on a bit of an accessories binge this morning- kicking off today’s posts with too fun ideas related to fashion. first up is the lovely raya carlise of paper pony- raya had this clever idea to reuse vintage tie clips as impromptu photo clips around her home. i’m always clipping or using magnets to attach things around my apartment so this is a fun way to jazz up the standard clip. i’d never seen tie clips this cute before (the little key? love it!) so i did a quick stroll around the block at ebay and there are tons of fun options available for $1 and under. can’t beat that. thanks to raya for sharing her clever idea…

next up- a great tip from anna marissa about a portland, oregon-based company called shwood making wooden sunglasses. sunglasses aren’t usually a d*s topic, but for some reason these grabbed me. i’m not sure that i could pull this off- but if i could? oh man, they would be on my dresser right now….
last but not least- click here to check out andy’s final guest blog of the week- a trip around the “stuff” in his home…

Brilliant! I need to go find some tie clips!
I just recently designed a web site for a company called iwood who also make wooden sunglasses: http://www.iwoodecodesign.com – I love the aesthetic. (But I’m not sure I can pull them off either.)
Wooden sunglasses. Brilliant!
ahhh, I love the wooden sunglasses! I would definitely at least try it out. :)
Love the tie clips idea- I am pretty crazy about using clips for all my organizing needs but have never used a tie clip! I see them everywhere in my vintage shopping and will pick some up! Thanks for the inspiration.
such a smart idea. putting these on my wish list.
Glad people are liking this! Thanks for posting Grace : ) And good to know there are options on ebay. For some reason when I looked they were all like $4, but I probably just didn’t search enough. I think this is my new collection obsession…
That is so clever!
Wooden sunglasses – that is SO Portland.
I love the idea of tie clips as photo holders.
The wood sunglasses are AMAZING. And the price is way less than the similar plastic RayBan’s … which I own and now want to replace with these woodies. Fab find!
My husband can be extremely particular , and refused to wear just ANY pair of sunglasses. After a long hunt, he discovered a pair from Shwood and couldn’t be happier.
I have been wanting either wooden sunglasses or natural horn sunglasses for awhile. I consider myself a great connoisseur of sunglasses….I have dozens and dozens of different styles and colors from different designers. I have been wanting wooden ones for awhile because they can be refinished into virtually any color stain, I love that. I wish the style wasnt the typical wayfarer though, its so trendy now, and pretencious.
I wonder if they make different style sunglasses but still in wood….
I think I need those wooden sunglasses. What a fantastic take on something ordinary turning ever so extraordinary!
Fabulous.
I have a sudden interest in vintage tie-clips. Raya, you are awesome.
Those are amazing, I love them ! I think it will work nice with a casual linen dress , a rattan clutch and a nice pair of nude color sandals, and you’re good to go …… & also love the ones from iwoodecodesign that jason mentioned – GORGEOUS !
nice idea this tie clips. Maybe my dad has some lying around :-)
Wooden sunglasses are so comfortable. I got a pair for my girlfriend and she loves them!
