Exploring and commenting a lot today, I am. This table grabs me the most so far! The juxtaposition of metal forms and wood is used a lot in live edge slab tables, not usually successfully. This is very similar to live edge work with the reclaimed top, and the base and top work together perfectly. Not an accident! If you go to the Workstead site you can see the black gloss finish they chose for the base: Just the right departure from the slab: the base form becomes both industrial AND familiar, like a favorite old bike.

This looks like it could also be a fabulous dinner table!

I'd love to see more of the rustic/antique industrial look - that's what I've always loved: rustic antiques paired with ultra modern stuff. I'm SO over mid century.

We went up to Brimfield about five years ago for our annual anniversary weekend trip. Unfortunately, we didn't have the time, money or car space, to bring back everything we wanted. But we did manage to bring back two industrial desk chairs.

Grace, I don't understand your need to purge the mid-century items you already have. I think the two styles compliment each other quite well. But, if you can't shake it, feel free to dump off your MCM stuff on me. I'll take good care of it!

This desk is EXACTLY what I want. I wonder what kind of pricing we're talking about...

Like some other folks, we went to Brimfield also, but on a very rainy day :(
