i want to make some really pretty fancy hangers for my upcoming wedding. the problem is i want to make them in a way where the whole hanger isnt 'covered' like the one shown above, but infact there is padding/lining on all of its sides. i.e, the middle area of the triangle is visible and just the wires are coated/padded/decorated....
can anyone help me how to find out how to do that ? ill be SO grateful

This would also be a terrific idea for those off-season or seldom-worn clothes that collect dust on the shoulders in between wearings ~ put the cover *on top* of the clothes.

reminds me of the hangers i have somewhat - my great grandmother used to cover wire hangers with yarn braided around them, which not only made them pretty but also kept tops from slipping off them. they're now in my closet :)

What a cute idea! I'm going to modify with a craft I already do - yarn covered hangers (something I picked up from my grandfather of all people).

Was thinking I'd use yarn or ribbon knotted around to cover the wire part on top - and this way you can also use two wire hangers for extra strength.

For the instructions on yarn wrapping, go here: http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to-yarn-covered-hangers/

Oh - and you can use fancy yarns and even ribbons too. Just note that the yarn tied in knots is very thick - it actually works best with the super cheap yarn. If you go fancy on the yarn, just don't go to thick.
