You did not answer the question about paying sales tax to WA state if you are only selling “hobby” work. Do we have to charge and pay state sales tax if we stay a hobby and do not make a profit? what if we make a profit — just one year?

This was a terrific article! It’s in plain English and everything. I’ve often thought the IRS would actually be better off if they took the time to simplify for online businesses AND help folks to understand their obligations. Yeah, I know..but they SHOULD care that it is understandable.
