this first before & after comes from rebekah of wild ink press. i’m always talking about the virtues of chalkboard paint (especially “mercantile red” by hudson paint) and love this simple fridge makeover rebekah completed for her home. it’s such a great way to showcase her children’s artwork directly on the fridge, rather than clipped onto the fridge. click here for rebekah’s full project instructions (and more images)!

this little jewel of a closet makeover comes from heidi kenney of my paper crane. heidi recently swapped bedrooms with her older son to give him more room (such a sweet mom!) and was trying to tackle the odd corner closet in her new space. the closet was too narrow for a single hanger to hang inside with the door shut so they removed the door, wallpapered the closet and created new wooden shelves to keep their books organized. great work, guys!

d*s reader katie lewis made turned this sad office chair into a happy place to sit by updating the frame with white paint and adding a sunshine yellow striped fabric. total cost including the chair? $7. great work, katie! click here for more details on her project.

Wow, I love that little closet!
what an odd closet? love the makeover though
I really need to do a chalkboard paint area in my place! Awesome Job!
I’m so tempted to do this to my fridge. It is such an awesome idea!
chalkboard fridge! How cool! that really opens up the door to endless chalkboard possibilities
Love the closet and chair, they have different owners but I think they go together! Great way to spruce up a room with the bright wallpaper and cheery fabric.
The fridge is awesome but if I accidentally scratched my nails on it when I went to open it all the time, it would just kill me!
I LOVE the paper inside the closet! My question: Where do you put your clothes now?
so cute! I see chalkboard paint projects all the time, but I still love them. Especially after seeing 500 Days of Summer. :) i love that wallpaper too!
WOW! That closet and blue wall color is stunning!
yes! I love that closet too! great inspiration!
The lining on that bookshelf is awesome!
I LOVE the Marcel Dzama Wall!! His work is amazing and it looks great grouped together like that.
I would love to know a little more about how to paint a fridge like that. Don’t you need to sand it or in other ways prepare it before you paint? Does anybody know how?
oh, sorry… didn’t see the link. Too excited over the great project ;)
I definitely want to do this for my fridge!
LOVE the chair conversion!!! I would have never thought to bring the original home with that ugly 80′s plaid and dated wooden arm rests. This update is sleek, modern and happy!
