lately i’ve been rather obsessed with historic wallpaper patterns, mainly because of d*s editor amy merrick‘s excellent list of resources for them. one of the companies i’ve been drooling over most is adelphi paper hangings, and their beautiful selection of grey and pink patterns. i quite literally cannot resist the combination of grey and pink so their west st. mary’s (above left) and pagoda patterns (above right) are right up my alley. i’d love to finish my bathroom with the pagoda print but i have a feeling ac would have something to say about all that pink. until then, i’ll continue to swoon over their work. click here to check out their full collection of historic patterns from 1750-1930.
ps: thanks to nymag.com for including is in the “good” side of their approval matrix this week!

LOVE the two pink and grey examples. Need to check out the list of resources, I’ve been in a vintage wallpaper mood lately…
oh my gosh! These are gorgeous!!
What is the price point for these wallpapers? I want to cover one wall in my bedroom, but I am a renter and don’t want to spend a fortune.

they’re pricey and to the trade, so if you shoot them an email they’ll give you a price through the trade. then you can order through a local d&d building.

oh my! that top left grey/pink floral is so yum.
No joke, you answered my question before I asked it. We just put an offer on a house with a *delightful* light pink and grey tiled bathroom, and I don’t want to do the typical poodle or elephant theme. These are gorgeous and sophisticated.
Maybe this is a sign that they are going to accept our offer!
I’m obsessed with the Aesthetic/Arts and Crafts movement, especially prints by William Morris (1834-1896) made into wallpaper.
I totally suggest googling him in addition to these awesome selections above.
The carnations & shells print is from the House of Seven Gables in Salem, MA. It takes your breath away when you see it a room. http://www.7gables.org/
I’m trying to find a way to fit into my house but the color and print need another room to breath.
grace! congrats on the nymag mention!
thanks sian!

Great resource I had not heard about previously!
Wow, the top left grey and pink paper reminds me so much of the paper in the room I slept in when I went to visit my grandmother. I’m pretty sure that she still has it up, too. I loved falling asleep looking at all of the pretty flowers.
You’re website has deepened my love of wallpaper. What do you think of a single wall in a bedroom wallpaper — interesting or just me being cheap (or both)?
