i’ve been enjoying paige‘s themed-event posts on the d*s guest blog (today is a modern tupperware party!) so much that i almost missed a comment from d*s reader chloe about paige’s talented husband, painter kevin appel. kevin creates incredible, colorful works of art that incorporate images of wood in a way that is equal parts playful and beautiful. i spent the better part of yesterday afternoon checking out his work so i thought it would be fun to share his work along side his wife’s this morning!

Kevin was one of my favorite teachers as an undergrad (UCI) and he helped encourage me to go for a career in art. I ended up a designer so something must have stuck. What a pleasant surprise to see his work featured here!
