I would strongly encourage to try some of the local / Chinese restaurants for Beijing Duck rather than the Grand Hyatt....Don't take me wrong, the Grand Hyatt is certainly a beautiful hotel but the money you will spend vs. the quality and taste of the food will not measure up to restaurants like Da Dong (on 3rd Loop Rd near Chang Hong Qiao), or QuanJuDe (multiple locations in Beijing).... I would strongly recommend to the readers here to try those Beijing Duck restaurants instead... Will save you $$$ and have a great experience and meal.

A great start to Beijing, but Dali Courtyard is actually a Yunnanese (southwest China) restaurant, not Sichuanese!

For other great personal recommendations on places to go in Beijing I suggest visiting Architectural Record's site, where Architects and other artists have posted their favorite haunts in Beijing:

http://archrecord.construction.com/features/beijing/recommendations/selections-1.asp

The suggestions are unique and very well thought out (as a former resident of Beijing I can attest to that).
