this coming weekend is packed with great things: the deep south in the northeast show i’m curating at art stream (more on this tomorrow), UFC 100 (go GSP!), and open space‘s hosting of the exhibition we are familia.

we are familia’s primary ongoing project is a series of 25 one-of-a kind keepsake boxes showcasing original “mementos” contributed by its family of international artists. the artists at open space in beacon, ny will address “the spatial tropes of domesticity and familial dynamics by transforming open space into a living room of seamlessly integrated furniture, art and design.” there are some phenomenal artists participating (including amy ruppel and nightwood) and the july 11th opening will include a green BBQ, drinks from kingston’s micro brewery and street projections after dark. the show runs from july 11th to september 6th, so click here for more info and to attend!

Heck yeah! I’m always pulling for St. Pierre. So humble to be such a bad ass.
YES! someone knew what GSP meant! you have no idea how that made my day. ;)
i think he is so fantastic. so incredibly humble and kind- and hard working! i watch that old UFC unleashed special (the one before his rematch with BJ Penn) when i need to get psyched up to work out. he’s so dedicated to training.
Love your site, Grace! I also had to comment about GSP…I would love to see a Canada vs. US season of TUF with GSP as the Canadian Coach. Think it will ever happen?
It’s so great to see other girls who love design and the UFC =)
oooh, that sounds great. i was so disappointed with this year’s coaches. henderson and bisping were so boring.
have you read “blood in the cage”? it’s about the rise of the UFC, told through the life of pat miletich. pat was supposed to coach a season and dana white changed it on him last minute. that would have been a good show- i love hard working dedicated fighters. i’m so over the talkers and braggers. (ahem, BJ Penn) ;)

such exciting events. wishing i was nearer to brooklyn to check them out!
Oh Wow! It’s so cool to see Lucinenne mentioned!
I have a Robin Day Hillstack chair, and always love hearing more about them. I actually bought the chair not knowing what it was!
I have been reading d*s religiously for over a year, and I have never commented before now, but I just have to say that I am completly floored that you gals are GSP fans too! I thought I was a freak… ;)
