when it comes to shelves, i’m used to seeing wooden, metal and plastic varieties. but rubber? i don’t think i’d seen that variation until i got an email from RISD MFA grad pete oyler emailed me with his new “stretch shelves“. made of cast rubber and machined aluminum, pete’s stretch shelves are essentially giant rubberbands that function as wall shelves. i’d love to see a huge wall-length version of these, but the smaller sized would make for really interesting accent shelves. and the colors? i’m a sucker for anything vaguely neon….

Great simple idea & like many, I wonder – why didn’t I think of that!
That’s awesome! In all the times I’ve fantasized about ridiculous/brilliant products that should exist, I never imagined that shelves could [or should] resemble rubberbands!
