hi d*s readers, i just wanted to thank everyone for joining me for a cup of coffee and a muffin this week, it’s been a pleasure. also, a very special thank you to the d*sponge herself for inviting me to guest-sketch-blog.

if anyone has a favorite coffeeshop that they think i would enjoy visiting and drawing at, please mention it in the comments section, there will be plenty more coffeeshop drawings in the future.

coffee shop above // sweet melissa patisserie: i finally am including a coffee shop that is south of the williamsburg bridge. what better way to conclude sketchblogging for d*s than coffee with the *sponge herself, grace. we had a lovely time sitting in the backyard chatting, catching up and sipping iced coffee. while i didn’t actually have a muffin, the day was beautiful and the company excellent. (d*s guest blog score: 5 out of 5 sketchbooks)

coffee shop // broadway & 23rd st: okay, not a coffee shop, but i am a huge fan of the new manhattan no-car islands (pedestrian plazas?) along broadway. comfortable chairs and tables, great views of buildings and people, and plenty of choices of food and drink. can one ask for more? I have so much enjoyed this series! Very sad to see it come to an end. As an artist it inspires me to sketch more, and to know that I only have to go as far as my local coffee shop to find an interesting composition. Thank you so much Alex!

If you’re ever in Milwaukee, Wi, go to Alterra on the Lake to draw. It’s in a great historical building. Great coffee, too
