i’ve got maine on the brain today (i’m planning a trip up to portland to shoot a video with one of my favorite designing duos there) so i was excited to hear from design student rachel manly. rachel is a senior at the maine college of art and also worked as a studio assistant with the lovely karen gelardi (their work definitely shares a similar style). rachel’s work has such a nice organic vibe to it and i love the bold colors she chooses- so i thought it would be fun to share a little taste of it today before we launch into diy projects. you can contact rachel right here if you have any questions or visit her website here.

I am a HUGE fan of Karen Gelardi’s work and now I am a huge fan of Rachel’s. Love these bold patterns…feels like there is no fear in her brush strokes. love it. Thanks for sharing!

These really caught my eye! I’m drawn to the strong, bold lines and the intense colors :)

wow! I have a print that is almost IDENTICAL to the sunbursts… Only I outlined each ‘ray’. Just goes to show, great minds think alike. :) I love your work Rachel! Can’t wait to see more.
