i’ve absolutely loved rei jin‘s guest posts this week on the d*s guest blog. her exploration of what modern day versions of classic fairy tale heroines would wear and own has been such a unique spin on a themed post series. today rj is finishing up with trappings fit for a modern rapunzel and i’m already imagining how rapunzel’s would decorate her modern day castle turret. click here to check out rei jin’s fairy tale finds for today….
speaking of fairytales, i couldn’t resist sharing this beautiful stop-motion save-the-date video that haley smith and jason harmon created for their wedding. what a sweet and interesting was to announce your big day to the world. click here for more info. just be sure to turn your volume down a bit when you play- there are some loud notes in there that may not be good for an office setting. [thanks, haley!]

and once last wedding note- my new post for the MS weddings blog is up! i decided to post the bridesmaid gifts i had made for my girls since that wouldn’t be covered in the magazine. so if you’d like to check out a creative, handmade idea for bridesmaid gifts, click here to check it out!

isn’t jenny great? i’m glad to see her work here and over at martha stewart.
so so cute! i love the idea! Did they email their friends the video file or made them into a cd and passed them out?
that save the date in incredible!!!
i love, love, love the leaf + birch cutouts, and the save the date is fabulous too! feeling really inspired – thanks!
Little Mo – they e-mailed them out (my wife and I were fortunate enough to receive one)…
The STD (oops not such a great abbreviation huh?) video is superb! Had to pass that on to my digital arts friends. The silhouette leaf is incredibly imaginative. Why oh why can’t I be like that?!
Haley and Jason’s save the date makes me so happy! They are the cutest couple!!
So. awesome. So so so awesome.
WOWZA. So cool.
What’s with the sexualized photos of late (see woman’s butt on July 16 as well)? I have always appreciated that ds has been an entertaining, creative, mentally stimulating blog that is also free from the half-nude or nude imagery found most everywhere else in our sex-obsessed society. Be out of step with the norm ds!

this week’s guest blog posts have featured lingerie, but those were 5 posts out of the over 7,500 we’ve posted. so not to fear, we’re not abandoning the normal tone of images we run ;)

Those leaf portraits are the most beautiful thing, just lovely.
Lingerie can be entertaining, creative and also mentally stimulating. hooray for undies!
Love, LOVE the Save the date and the silhouette leaf is just perfect.
Thanks so much for the post. Also swooning for the save the date, makes me want to do it all over… with a kazoo band.
that is the same hat that lady gaga just recently wore….I noticed it instantly, I was wondering where lady gaga got some of her outfits.
