nothing in design tugs at my heart strings quite like great print or pattern design- whether it comes in the form of a beautiful fabric, or a beautiful roll of wallpaper. and this morning, it’s the latter- courtesy of swedish designer lena hautoniemi.

like many swedish designers, lena finds her inspiration in the woods and fields of her native country. her latest collection of wallpapers, designed under the name wingbud wallpaper, includes a number of colorful patterns that have moved straight to the top of my “must have” list. most of her designs are painted by hand with a paintbrush or pen and have such a nice line quality to them. i’m current oohing and ahhing over the vivid orange and raspberry-colored designs above and below, but there’s plenty here for everyone.

gorgeous design and great colors!
These are absolutely gorgeous! I want!
Though I am not a lover of wall paper, these are really stunning.
I too, would paint before papering…but these are LOVELY.
I love that one in the fireplace picture!
gorgeous is right. and such beautiful choices in color, too!
Makes me want to wallpaper my kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room and closets.
Oh, wow. These patterns are simply amazing. I love the little accents of colour within the wallpaper, that’s so rare!
A-mazing and lovely.
Very beautiful!
gorgeous!!
The color swatches look like so much fun, but when you see the installed pictures…Wow! Beautiful.
Absolutely Amazing. I am in complete lust with the last one. Great post.
what is the thing with wallpaper these days… is it really coming back?
Thanks for sharing. LOVE LOVE LOVE these. I’m totaly inspired now to wallpaper. Funny how 5 years ago I would have stripped this off my walls. Now I am drooling. Keeps things interesting.
Gotta pick up on some of this new buzz , to get the flutter going on around the walls of this house once more!
Ooh man I can’t stop thinking about the Yellow Wallpaper. Especially the grey room with the blue paper, the overall swirl pattern looks terrifying. Or should I say… maddening?
wow so beautiful!!! i like them all
stunning! this makes me want to wallpaper my entire apartment!
Vackert/beautiful. Feels like an international and contemporary Värmland-look!
Just stunning! Very intensively patterned but with an amazingly light feel to them. Colours are fab!
I love the idea of wallpapering one wall or corner of a room with a bold print like this. Lovely.
I’m digging the wallpaper’s faux texture, and bright colors of course.
I love these and YES wallpaper is coming back in a big way! It is now the main way to have a statement in a room especially with tight budgets. I prefer one wall being covered or it can become overwhelming. The things that can be done now are amazing!
Oh, great colors on first picture! Thanks for sharing.
Wow!I like this wallpaper very much. Actually I’m going to change the wallpaper in my dining room. So I think this kin of wallpaper will suit me very much!
