after reading about new york’s plan to kill up to 2,000 canada geese (to prevent plane collisions), i’ve had birds on the brain. poor birds, they don’t mean to fly into engines. so in my bird sadness, i find myself drawn back to birds again- and these pretty tags ($8) and book pages ($4.30) from delila jemaiel are just the ticket. click here to check out delila’s full collection online…

*ps: for those of you in new york: how “ny post” is that story title (in the link)? they always have the most hysterical headlines. i feel like every weekend i pick up a copy and shake my head while saying “oh, new york post, you write the silliest things”.

It is sad how we humans have to take over every inch of this planet, including its air space – woe to any creature that gets in our way. The tags and book pages are lovely!

our little love nest

This is so sad! I just put up a Canadian goose in our etsy shop in honour of these lovely birds which so remind me of home.

I love the gorgeous tags by Delia Jemaiel!

These are so pretty! Poor birds…can’t they just relocate them!?
jeez.

Heidi (a different one)

As a Canadian, I would gladly keep our geese here and away from the planes if I could, just to protect them from planes (and apparently now part of NYC). If you could see the goslings we have here right now, your heart would melt. Love the tags, they are so pretty!

The poor birds. They have a migratory path that they follow instinctively, and now we’re going to shoot them for it? Absurd.

the most famous NY Post headline is “Headless body found in topless bar.” It’s legendary among journalists who wish they could get away with that kind of snark at their papers.

oh man, that’s the worst! the ny post always makes me laugh with their abbreviations like “PREZ SEZ” or something ;)

oh, boy.
I’m Canadian. I’ve never done it myself, but I hear that killing a Canada Goose (as in hunting, not as in road accidents or other unintentional stuff) holds a million dollar fine here.
The geese are a pain, mostly, but I’m not into playing god like that. Live and let live, et cetera.

i feel badly about the birds, too. did you see the post today: “dragnut” – about the guy impersonating his dead mother for the benefits. haha

Now I’m sad. Beautiful tags — I don’t need an excuse to admire any bird art!

There must be a better way than to kill them surely. Sounds like they’ve opt for the easiest to me. Very naughty!!

The bird tags are really lovely-(-I have an african gray parrot.) I believe that all the expertise the engineers are supposed to have should enable them to try to come up with other means of keeping the geese out of the engines
