as a former printmaking major in college, i have a soft-spot in my heart for those who specialize in the medium. so i was excited to hear from christie ginanni, an artist and printmaker from steamboat springs, colorado. she recently left her job in colorado to take up a residency opportunity in venice, italy and has now returned to work and added some beautiful new pieces to her website. i really love the colors she uses in her work, and the little details she etches in. they’re so sweet. click here to see more of christie’s work online.

next up? fun modern tea-towels from the near future at etsy. based in sydney, nicole law and julia lee skinny created the near future and just recently started making and selling screen printed tea towels from their etsy shop. they use 100% linen for the towels and package each one in recycled paper. i really love the blue lines design and the purple dots, but you can check out their shop right here to find your favorites. also, check out the near future’s blog right here. thanks, nicole!

Love the tea towels!
Beautiful brilliant work, the purple circles is my very favorite out of the designs.
Thank you for sharing these beautiful pieces. I have now bookmarked these sights under inspiration in my bookmarks, bar along with this one. Really beautiful! Design Sponge is on my list of daily reads.
woo, printmaking!!!! there is just nothing like it.
Oh my, I want that purple print on my wall!! Gorgeous and just what the kitchen needs.
Love, love those teatowels! Off to check out the rest right now…
Oh, I love both of these. Thank you!
i love the green vine one. what purpose do tea towels serve? i would be afraid to use something so pretty in my kitchen for fear of ruining it, but what else could it be used for?

if they’re thin and large enough you can use them to wrap gifts, which is something i do quite regularly with japanese tea cloths.

Thank you for your great post about Christie Ginanni! She truly is an inspiring & talented artist – and someone to watch.
My fave is the green viney one. Can also use to make pillows, I suppose. Love the idea of giving a special soap wrapped in something so lovely- two gifts in one!
I like the blue one, it would look in the kitchen after it is framed. Great job, thankx.
