for me, this year’s stationery show was mostly about strong, consistent designers churning out more strong work. i think the recession prevented too many new designers from showing, so i found myself going back to my designers i was already familiar with to see their beautiful new work. the smaller show size meant i got to spend a little bit more time with them so i’ll be sharing my favorites here over the next few days. next up- two of my favorites from last year: old school stationers of portland, oregon and sycamore street press of columbus, ohio.

the old school stationers team showed some really beautiful work this year- including some new prints (i love the way they’re mounted on wood), notebooks, greeting cards, and a lovely calendar. the camp theme was a favorite of mine (and a definite mini-trend at this year’s show) and i walked away from their booth feeling (yet again) like old school stationers was one of the strongest booths at the show.

eva at sycamore street press (click here for a peek into her home, and here for her fantastic columbus city guide) showed some new prints (above) that seriously took my breath away. i’m always a fan of her work and this year was no exception. her greeting cards, frame prints and humorous line of stationery were just fantastic. click here for more of eva’s work.

glad to hear that! :)
I am a huge fan of Old School Stationers. Really inventive work that is so unique to the industry. They have a look all that is all their own. Love those colors and little animals.
The old school stationers work was totally amazing… 4 and 5 color letterpress! i love the mounted prints.
thanks so much, grace, for including us!
just to let everyone know — all the stuff we debuted at the show will be in our online shops in the next couple of weeks. also, i want to credit my friends kristin mills, amy shaffer, and stephanie ford who do some of the sycamore designs. they’re so talented!
I fell in love with the ‘fancy peacock’ poster at the show. I must have it. Great coverage, Grace.
Yes. Thanks Grace for including us and Eva for printing our designs so beautifully!
