well, the day has finally arrived: i’m on my way to boston for my bachelorette party! i’m heading out early to catch a train up north so i’m ending things early today. but first i wanted to share some info about a fantastic event taking place in brooklyn this weekend. i’m so bummed i’m going to miss it, but for any lucky ducks in nyc this weekend, here’s the rundown. abitare in brooklyn heights is having a fantastic “women artists” event with llubav choy duerr, sarah magid, and frances palmer. i love all three of these ladies’ work so this sounds like one power-house of an event. drop by abitare on saturday, april 4th between 1-4pm and meet the artists and enjoy the some sparkling drinks (and baked goods from sarah!) while you check out their work. click here for more information. [thanks, llubav!] that’s it for me- i’m off to amtrak! i hope you all have a fantastic weekend and i’ll see you on monday. [all photos of llubav's work courtesy of 3photographers]

oh all of these are delicious!!
Have fun!
I love that ring pillow!
it’s a little low-brow compared to hanging out with some lovely artists, but might i recommend a night filled with funny, horrible movies? check out “schlock around the clock” at the brattle theatre in harvard square – i really wish i was in town this weekend to go! http://www.brattlefilm.org/brattlefilm/movie_detail/090404.html
That cake is so simple and elegant.

I hope you have a great bachelorette party. Have fun!!!!
This is so excruciatingly elegant and well executed it makes my little life seem oafish. How can I have a swath of grace follow me about like yours?
Can someone tell me where the cake stand in the picture above can be purchased?
Congratulations and I hope you have a wonderful bachelorette party!
have a blast at your bachelorette party! i love the wedding goods in this post!
You have to post more about your bach party…us in Boston are intrigued that it happened here and not in NYC!…Jacques is a good pick, but was there a dinner beforhand?
abby
it’s a long story, but it just worked out best to go where the largest number of my friends were. we had a delicious dinner at Toro in the south end and then went to Jacques- it was such a blast. it was also fun just to get to spend time with some of my favorite girls :)
we also got to do brunch at the south end buttery which was delicious, then window shop in the area.
grace
where is the beautiful wedding cake from?
mj
it’s from sarah magid, her link is in the post above :)

Hi! Thanks for posting about the event and for all the lovely comments, sorry you missed it Grace! To answer the cake stand question, it is a vintage milkglass from ebay. Thanks! Sarah
psst: sarah, i love your cakes! they are soo beautiful. :)
thanks Grace! Thats so nice to hear!
no only are they so beautiful but they taste yummmy! mikus had his first piece of cake for his b-day and love it! of course it was a sarah magid master piece. : )
I would love to know where I can get a pattern for that ring pillow. It’s gorgeous and I would like to make it for an engaged friend! Thank you.
hello jennifer,
all ring pillows are custom made…so, there’s really no pattern available. martha stewart weddings has some patterns online you can download and then all you have to do is create the flowers and attach. hope this helps!
I love the cake! It’s beautiful and looks delicious.
