i have a deep love for all things related to tea-consumption. i love tea cups, tea pots, tea packaging- it all reminds me of relaxing and taking a few moments out of the day to just chill out. but one thing that bugs me about my favorite tea pots is that i can’t use them directly on the stove- and having to clean an extra pot or kettle isn’t always something i’m fond of (yep, sometimes i’m very lazy). so i was excited to see this cool new tea kettle/pot from vessel ideation.

basically, vessel ideation has cut the middle man out and built a container that allows you to boil directly on the stove, and then pour straight into your cup. the vessel itself, called “one“, is made from enamel-coated stainless steel and a high-temperature silicone- which allows you to place the teapot directly on the stove, but still pick it up to pour when it’s ready. so when you attach the magnetic trivet to the bottom you can carry it with you to the table- no need to pour into a separate teapot.

what i love most about the “one” kettle is that its blue graphics only show up when there is hot liquid inside. so as the water heats, the graphic appear and help you know when the water is ready to use. such a fun idea. click here to check out the “one” kettle and watch a video mock-up of it in action.

Those are darling!
I love this.
But is it truly ‘One’.
Where do you put the tea?
Well, as far as i can tell – not in ‘One’, so its not a tea pot.
Anyone know where you can buy one of these?
is this available to buy? this would be the perfect gift for someone i know.
oh my! what a concept!
A very neat idea on how to re-invent the teapot using new technology. While I love the use of the blue on white pattern reminiscent of ancient Chinese porcelain, it seems more logical that the design would be red indicating “hot.”
Really beautiful! But where do you put the actual TEA? How do you clean it?
can this be bought yet? i have been using just a small saucepan on the stove, waiting for the perfect teapot to come along.. and here it is!
yeah, i’m with everybody else, “Where can you get one?”!!!!
So cool…are they for sale yet?
checking on this, guys…will let you know about for sale status…
Sadly it’s not in production yet– from Vessel Ideation:
“Unfortunately this design concept is not production yet — but we’re hoping to find a partner to develop & commercialize it.”

This is really cool! I love the designs! I hope they make them soon, and at an affordable price because I would buy one!
This is really the exact kind of thing I’ve been looking for! As soon as it is for sale, I’ll be buying one.
How gorgeous!
Really beautiful. I love the blue graphics, but I have to say I agree w/ Nik- not truly ‘one’ step. The point of a tea pot is that you can brew up lots of tea in the pot, not just pour hot water into mugs from it. I’d be more sold if you could steep the tea in the pot.
Was this an ad or a post? Do you really clean your kettle every time you boil water? It’s cute and all but it really felt like an ad.
Love tea, love these.
April fools, I bet!
This is wonderful…if it goes into production will the site post it again so we know where to buy it?
really martina? it sounds like an ad? there sure is a lot of snarkiness in the comments lately.
This doesn’t sound like an advertisement?
“but one thing that bugs me about my favorite tea pots is that i can’t use them directly on the stove- and having to clean an extra pot or kettle isn’t always something i’m fond of”
I’ve never thought to myself, why can’t I put my teapot on the stove? Oh man, now I have to clean something I boiled water in. I’m not being snarky, just a little suspicious and curious.
I want one! This was kind of a cruel April fools post, show us something we all want but can’t have. ;-)
i have been waiting for this teapot my whole life… :) can’t wait until they find a partner to make it – i am sure someone is ready to jump!
That is beyond fabulous! Tea lovers rejoice!
martina
always happy to clarify this- we don’t take paid endorsements so this post isn’t an ad. just the musings of someone who’s truly lazy enough to avoid cleaning an extra pot at the end of the day.

Great idea and an exciting future product but it may start an interesting copyright conversation regarding silhouette and shape! http://www.evasolo.com/products-teamaker.html
well, they’re both similar to this one from 60 years ago, too:

I. Want. This!
This Does Not exsist in real life. It’s a concept device.

i clarified that above- the company is looking for a partner to make and distribute the product.

i, too, am impressed!
These look amazing, but a bit pointless – you’re still brewing the tea in the cup! They should definitely look into making one that somehow combines tea/coffee within this…
I was blown away by this until I realised you don’t put tea in it.
Therefore it’s not a teapot, it’s just a pretty kettle. No?
I love the novel take on a teapot… I might just want one.
ITS NOT A TEAPOT!!!!
This is design at its best. Love it.
I LOVE this! I love the Space Invaders one. Does anyone know where you can buy this?
These are gorgeous. Usually things are either usable or pretty. Shocked at how well this does both.
Sigh,
I really wanted to buy one of these for my wife, who heats her water up for tea in a saucepan on the stove.
She enjoys video games so the Space Invaders one would be perfect!
Do people still use kettles on the hob? Surely a simple classy electric kettle which boils the water and a simple ceramic teapot to steep the tea in remains the easiest method. Kettles only need cleaning a couple times a year…
You’d clean the teapot each time, of course, but then whatever you steep the tea in will need cleaning…
Geez people, put your tea in the damned thing, the mouth looks wide enough. Maybe they could make a matching tea ball that doesn’t fall apart after a couple uses like all the rest in the the known universe.
It will clean up quicker and easier than my teapot ever does.
I emailed these guys to suggest they do something terribly clever, namely allow people to give their contact information so that if an when this becomes available they can let you know. You know, like most sensible web sties advertising new products do.
Grace, thanks for clarifying. I suppose some people clean their kettles more then twice a year like me! Sorry if it sounded overly suspicious.
Hello, can I found it in Mexico??
Hi all, I’m from Vessel, and wanted to jump in to say how much we appreciate all the interest + critique. Here’s a few answers that I hope you find helpful:
1) this is a concept that we fell in love with in the studio and, as it’s not our normal line of business, are promoting on the web in order to help us make a more convincing case to a manufacturing partner.
2) Our concept proposals include a brewing wand that sits down through the main chamber to allow tea to steep; but we decided not to build it into the actual kettle. Many users + cultures only brew tea in the cup so we felt it would be an appropriate accessory, but not the core product.
3) we are very aware of the fantastic eva solo teapot, but it relies on another vessel to heat the water, which makes it just a tabletop item.
4) Cleaning issues are not huge unless you use an in-kettle brewing tool—which we wanted to allow for, but for most users cleaning is infrequent.
5) Our site went down from all the interest, and we upped our bandwidth on all accounts. Apologies to anyone who tried to visit in the interim.
Sign me up! I want one. Let me know when they’re in production.
Oh, not in production yet? They are a simply superb idea! I can’t see why they can’t find some kind of support. I certainly want one!
