i’m still recovering from my bachelorette party this weekend (fun!), but i’m happy to kick off a new week with some beautiful work by austin artist lauren levy at the d berman gallery. lauren’s new show, ‘beneath the palm of my hand’, opens april 16th through may 30th and will showcase her incredible button-based work. i can’t get enough of her work, so if you’re lucky enough to be in the austin-area click here to check out more on the show.

i’m also thrilled to welcome jason martin of jason martin design to the d*s guest blog today! jason has shared several before & after renovations with us- as well as his professional home makeover tips- and today he’ll be sharing his design thoughts with us at the guest blog. click here to check out his first post on the idea of the ‘slow home’ movement (ie: getting in touch with your home and making sustainable choices about what goes in it).

Scissors out of buttons!

The only thing cooler might be a giant button out of buttons.

Sweet and crafty!
I like how the shades are created with darker color buttons…

Those are so cool–I love buttons, and I’m always looking for a new way to use them–I love it when art has so many levels–the buttons up close and the overall “drawing” from a distance.
