i got to spend some time with the lovely jen hill of jhill design this weekend so i thought i’d kick off today with her latest ‘places i’ve never been’ print: ukraine. in honor of easter, jen decided to create a design inspired by the pysanky eggs of the ukraine. i love her playful spin on such a traditional holiday- click here to pick up one of her prints (prices range from $25-$65)

also, jason martin has a wonderful post over at the d*s guest blog this morning about ‘the new modern’. he examines what ‘modern’ means these days and what sort of style might be the best spin on traditional modern design….click here to check it out…
[also- i've been paying attention to advertising a lot lately and will be twittering some of my favorite ad campaigns today. come add in your favs if you're interested...]

ukraine is my father’s land!
Where is that table from? There’s those shell pink curtains like Oly Studio was using in their showrooms…I dream about that color.
I love that egg print. It puts a vibrant, modern spin on the traditional easter eggs of Europe. Lovely.
I really hate Twitter. Almost as much as Facebook. Completely misused.
so calming love that pink
Beautiful drapery and furniture!
Any idea what the color of the walls are? They’re beautiful!
wow!! look at those curtains!!
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the kind words. For those who had questions:
The walnut parsons style table is custom made. You can email me for info – jason at jason martin design dot com.
The pink silk draperies are also custom but you could, more than likely, find something close to the color at a silk trading co. or store like that. it is a pretty heavy weight silk but a dupioni would work too.
For the wall color it is Farrow and Ball – Stoney Ground. But I have used a Dunn Edwards color called Serene Thought. Word of caution- colors are very subjective in photos. Get a sample first.
