Greetings from the South!

I am excited to join you here this week as Grace and Aaron should just now, this very day, be settling in as man and wife on their mini-moon in Charleston! Congratulations! We were all so very thrilled they chose Savannah for their destination wedding! I can only imagine how beautiful it must have been! I really hope someone took a few photos! A huge thank you to Grace for this incredible opportunity to be a guest on Design*Sponge! I have truly benefited from and appreciated all her gracious support, encouragement, and of course, design inspiration over the past few years!

A few years ago, I realized that there were a handful of Southern women, who at different times in my life have collectively inspired me to lead a more artful life. I am truly grateful to these women for befriending me, sharing their knowledge and creativity, and encouraging me to find my own artistic path. (One of them really couldn’t help it-she’s my mom!) I am delighted to have assembled them together here in photographs this week. They have all generously allowed me to share their homes, studios, and shops with all of you! I am incredibly grateful to them all! I hope you enjoy and please keep in touch! xo

I was wondering if you have any idea where can I buy this board – right behind the stove. I saw a simialr kitchen set up in this movie “The Visitor”, it was painted in red, and I really loved it :)

Diliana- I believe that is a pegboard painted white- usually comes in natural wood- and can be found in sheets at any hardware store! xo

Indeed! That’s what it looks like to me, too. It seems to be pretty popular — even Julia Child had pegboard in her kitchen!
