My next Canadian Sneak Peek is from the other co-owner of The Cross, Darci Ilich. Again, note all the whites to help with our darker winters (much like the Scandinavians), and I’m so jealous of her location (by the beach)! Another thing I wanted to mention I noticed they have online shopping coming soon to their site, so it might be a good thing to bookmark and check back (or sign up for their newsletter)! It’s so great to see some Canadian presence online! -Jan of Poppytalk
1. Name: Darci Ilich
2. Occupation/Shop: Co-Owner of The Cross
3. Location: Vancouver B.C. (Yaletown)
4. Type of Home: Duplex
5. Your style inspiration? Since I now live by the beach my home has that
east coast Hamptons feel with west coast casualness. I’ve gone with a very pale palette of white and creams with touches of blue and greens with a mix of vintage and modern.
6. A description of each image: All available through The Cross – from the Creamy White Tufted Sofa, Modern Lacquered Coffee Table, Designer’s Guild Pillows, and all accessories…
7. Your favorite place to shop for your home in your city? The Cross of course!
8. Your favorite Canadian Designer? I love Dean & Dan Caten’s Dsquared for fashion and for interiors not to toot our own horn but Peter Wilds our in store designer is doing some amazing work here in Vancouver!
9. How often do you change the look in your home? I’ve only been in my current place for little over a year so I’m just doing the finishing touches on the decorating.
10. Do you have one designer trick you could share with us? You can never miss with fresh flowers and great books piled everywhere! Also I love to change up my toss cushions on my sofas, chairs and bed. Already having the inserts makes it easy to make up great new covers as new fabrics come available.

What a pretty home!
I love sophisticated beachy decor. The weathered cabinet full of books looks so homey and calls out for an afternoon of reading by the fire! Great post!
Beautiful home. I so wish we could paint our walls white! We live in Vancouver, too, and our landlord has painted the walls a dark taupe. Pretty, but what was he thinking?! Winters are more depressing here without light walls.
I absolutely love this! The white and creams are gorgeous together. I am doing something similar in my home and can’t wait to see it all pulled together!
Thanks everyone, thinking now, I wish I had more images to show.
I love the birch tree chunks leaning against the wall. I can see some outside my window right now.. I’m tempted to get some sort of saw…
Thats funny Mallory!
: )
I LOVE this store! And to be able to take a peek at her home is such a treat, thank you!
