this before & after comes from designer mae brunken- she recently made over a guest quarters home in pacific palisades, ca. i love all of the yellow in the space- it’s the perfect accent color for such a sunny space. click here for more of mae’s work.

Gorgeous! And I love the color palette (soothing but professional) that she chose!
Even though you don’t see them much I am loving the window treatments! A nice way to incorporate that cheery yellow.
Love this!! I want to live here.
Oooh – can Mae tell us where she got that rug? Love it.
I posted this space the other day – it’s a Suzanne Sharp rug from The Rug Company
The rug is here at <a href=”http://www.therugcompany.info/contemporary-collection/suzanne-sharp/chiesa-yellow.htm”The Rug Company.
What about the daybed/couch? I’m not even sure what the correct term for that piece of furniture is but I want one.
Sorry, here’s that link again.
yes, ditto on the rug!
that should be called SERIOUSLY INSPIRED TRANSFORMATION! amazing & hip & beautiful
Chloe I agree….WHERE IS THE RUG FROM?
Gorgeous! I love the color palette and the daybed is to die for!!!
its all gorgeous…except for the bookcases high on the walls. They are heavy looking and inaccessible. Otherwise that is a great looking room. I love the dark desk and lamp shades vs. the popping yellow.
So lovely! The color scheme is so pretty and welcoming. I want to stretch out on that daybed!
Inspired be the tones and soothing feel of the space. I’m focused on the sublime desk chair. Know where it’s from? Love the padding and simple lines.
beautiful transformation!
it’s really beautiful, i love that color scheme. i too was thinking the shelf seems a bit awkward. it’s a great idea to provide more storage atop the floor piece, but aesthetically would be more pleasing if it were just sitting atop it rather than floating on the wall. and maybe the lamp could go on the desk. a punch of color is necessary over there. that chair and foot stool are gorgeous.
Boy- ‘before and afters’ and ‘sneak peeks’ and I’m good! love, love, love ‘em- this one’s no exception!
Shelly, the desk chair looks like the Eames office chair. I think Design Within Reach carries it.

I love color scheme and I think I need those window treatments – does anyone have a source for them?
Judging by the Eames chairs I’m guessing budget was not an issue.
I love this room, bright yet sophisticated! Any ideas what paint was used on the wall (brand/colour)?
Where is the Divan/Sofa from?
very cool, i dig this very much. book shelves are a little distracting up so high. this is a tiny room though.
Very nice, looks relaxing.
wow. that is quite the transformation. i love it.
love it. where is the desk/bookcase hanging on wall from?
wow– can she come design my house!
Love the color palette of the “after” space. And that wall-mounted shelving is great!
yikes- my sofa is the same as the one pictured in the before…ouch!
same color palette as my bedroom!! Looks inviting!
Incredible, I loving it
I would switch the photos over the desk with the bookcase! Beautiful colors…
That daybed looks like it’s from Vioski.
I would also like to know what brand the lounger is. I looked at the Vioski site and they are similar but not exactly the same as this one.
Oh my god! I just love you!You make such wonderful things!I have been reading your website for 3 days and I will continue doing this, because you guys are amazing!
Good luck with your career!(message from Romania)
