this desk makeovers comes courtesy of children’s book illustrator kristin sorra. kristin found this desk on craigslist for only $15 and gave it a chipper facelift with some dotted drawer paper and a coat of fresh paint and new knobs. great work, kristin!

Kristen’s choice to have one red knob and one white knob is, I think, what makes this desk look really special. Such a nice detail.
amazing! I love the red and white colour combination and the polka dotty drawer paper is gorgeous, well done! x
That’s adorable! Man, these B&As make me want to troll Craigslist for projects… Too bad I don’t have time or money!
I love love love the red knob! :)
I sure wish I had the stick-to-it-iveness to do a project like this start to finish. Certainly this would wind up a half-sanded piece of garage furniture housing zip ties and unpaired mittens.
Wow! Lovely transformation! Hardware can really set the wow factor!
omg this is SO CUTE!!!!
how cute is that desk! it really deserved the type of treatment kristen gave it. Great job!
Hi, there! I just wanted to let you know I was asked to review this site for calfinder.com – I love your blog and especially the fact that you are featuring recycling old pieces and other very cool and green ideas! The article should be up soon in the CalFinder blog!
I’m motivated to get cracking on my new desk now!
great job!
I love this! The red knob and polka dot liner make it!
Wow! There is no way that can be the same desk. The polka dot liner is fabulous.
Adorable desk! looks like I may need to go used furniture hunting
I’ve been looking for a dresser like this for ages, Kristen did a wonderful job!
wow! that’s so, so great. Good job!
I’m so very flattered by DS’s post and your lovely comments! It was such a fun project!
Wow! Great before and after. I love the pattern in the drawer.
So adorable. I’ve been thinking about a writing desk project for some time now, but this is really inspiring me to get a move on!
That is so cute!
I’d love to know more about that polka dot paper! Who makes it? Love that desk!
That desk make-over turned out wonderfully!!

Great, great, great, great, great table!!

Too cute! The joy of opening a drawer and finding that polka dot design! Love it!

Love the desk set… My dream desk!
Cute, love this ‘after’!
i like this one a lot.
:) i love this desk!
this is the reason why i am subscribed to your RSS feed: i am addicted by the inspiration that I get through your blog.
we did a lot of crafts when we were young. i mean good stuff! and your blog makes me understand that i miss that time. making something new, with your hands. i live in an apartment and don’t have any space to sand wood etc, this makes me wish i had a backyard…
thank you for the inspiration!
Beautiful! I have a similar wooden desk in my garage waiting to be transformed. I had planned on painting it out white for my daughter’s room. Now I have my inspiration photo – thanks!
This is soo perfect, i loved it and i loved the drawer. colors are really nice together
That does not even look like the same piece of furniture! I love how she lined the drawers and added a matching red knob. Just gorgeous!
Hah! I love this also, even more so because I was the person who picked the colors for those polka dots when I was working as a giftwrap designer a few years ago! This is one of my papers! Sha-zam!
:)
does anyone know where to find a chair like that one? love love love this project!
