new: modernica and manos

princecharles
there are three fantastic sneak peeks coming up next, but i wanted to share some beautiful new pieces that just hit the web today. first, modernica and artist peter shire just released the ‘prince charles‘ chair, which is an interesting spin on an iconic eames chair with queen anne-style legs. i really like the contrast between the solid walnut legs and the white frame, but you can click here to decide for yourself. you can choose from a number of colored seats to go with it…

also, karin eriksson sent over some beautiful new pieces that are fresh at the manos shop. as always, i’ve blown away by the simple grace behind each object. words aren’t enough to describe how precious and beautiful each piece is- click here to check them out (and shop) online.

Wow, I would have never dreamed of that combination for the Prince Charles chair, yet it really works! Also loving the clean lines of the Manos Shop pieces…so timeless!

Karen

What a different twist to marry the queen anne style legs to the modern eames chair this just shows that you can go against the grain and come out with pure design!

Brian

In my opinion, there are some things that should be redone, and some things that shouldn’t. I don’t care for the legs on that Eames shell chair, they over-power the simplicity of the shell.

Sera

i really dislike the chair – it looks like a frankenstein monster affair and as brian says does nothing for the simplicity of the chair. its a classic and doesn’t need tampering with.

Marlene

I’m sorry, but I think that chair is hideous, it’s the furniture version of Frankenstein.

I like the pieces from the Manos shop.

Jennifer

I’m surprised Modernica did this — that chair does not seem to be in line with the company ethos…

nina

Don’t like that chair either… it’s like Britney Spears covering a classic Dylan song.

grace

not a fan of the chair, I think they destroyed it by adding those overpoweringly large clunky legs. Leave the classics alone Modernica!

Kelli

Not really surprised Modernica would once again desecrate one of Herman Miller / Eames designs – the knock off kings strike again!

Bryan

Wow!! That chair is not attractive at all…I agree that it does look like something out of Frankenstein.
