These fantastic Indian wedding photos are by Karen Wise. I couldn’t resist sharing them here – I’m so in love with the vibrant colors, intricate patterns and amazingly complex rituals of Indian ceremonies.

Festival of Colors? Hi. Yes please. Why can’t we have festivals like this here? It seems like there’s one every weekend on my street but they only have deep fried Oreos and sticky games that involve clowns with chipped paint and popping balloons. Also I love a good bonfire, except that one I went to at the Rainbow Gathering (don’t ask) where some people didn’t have pants on and I might have slept in a wigwam.

I once had a client that didn’t have a lot of money to pay me…sound familiar? When it came down to it she offered me trade. It was a pretty sweet deal because I have a weird sense of humor and I guess, design. I love these Indian Health posters, we have them up in our apartment. Its good to remind people how to take care of themselves and how to make sure your baby is healthy.

I just had to post these photos of these handbuilt Fortune Telling Robots. I love how they sit at the intersection of folk art and technology, and the fact that they work just seals the deal. I seriously want one for my next birthday.

These are great Sara, I am in love with the colors of India as well. We are lucky, because this weekend is the Phagwah festival which brings those colors to Queens!

I love your intro images. I am hoping to go to India sometime in the next couple years. I will bring back fortune-telling robots for all of us.
this is great, you reminded me about Holi which we had meant to post about for a while. I mean – a holiday about color, how cool is that?
Hi! Am from India.. Good pics..I hope you get to come here someday.. :-)
We welcome our guests warmly..
From the first pic of the fortune-telling robots, i could read the sign in the background saying that its in my city(Bangalore).. LOL.. not sure which area though..
Apart from the fortune-telling robots, The other pics are mainly of North India.. The culture is diverse and so we find a lot of differences when we compare the Northern India to its Southern counterpart..
(Am a native of north, but brought up in south.. haha)
Also, look out for Diwali – festival of lights.. Its fun too..
Email me anytime if you want to..
Have fun!! :-)
I am going to India this month and this was great inspiration! Thanks for these and all your great work.
