for some reason waking up this morning was a bear- so i thought i’d start off the day with three things that make me laugh, smile and think.
first off is the gorgeous textile hanging above by finnish design ritva puotila. i was reading libby anderson’s blog and found this piece and was instantly smitten. so much fabric, so much drama- i love it. libby titled her post about this piece “mille-feuille” and i couldn’t agree more- it reminds me of the beautiful dress carrie wore in sex and the city when baryshnikov takes her to paris. sigh…so romantic.

second is a piece that makes me laugh- jaime hayon’s chicken rocker. not sure what on earth i would do with a piece like this, but i can’t help wanting to ride it on like one of those playground toys that bob back and forth. [via libby]

and last but not least are sara‘s amazing posts on croatia on the d*s guest blog today. in addition to beautiful textiles, jewelry and architecture, she’s even sharing a delicious recipe for krafne, a traditional croatian donut. yum. click here to check out her posts for today…

I LOVED that dress that Carrie wore! Definitely one of my dream dresses. And I love the textile hanging, too!
I could definitely find a place for the Chicken rocker..just the right touch of green. The Ritva Puotila textile is dreamy.
that rocker is hilarious!
henry would LOVE that! he calls all birds CUCKS right now for duck.
Amazing textile hanging!!
ApartmentTherapy/OhDeeDoh had a ‘hot or not’ segment on the chicken rocker as a Lladro ornament: http://www.ohdeedoh.com/ohdeedoh/hot-or-not/hot-or-not-lladro-rocking-chicken-073616
Although I’m not one for Lladro, it’s pretty amusing anyways.
