weekly wrap up + llubav.com

tonight i’m heading out to see coraline in 3d so i’m gearing up for a night full of “oohs” and “ahhs”. i can’t wait to see all of that incredible handmade work coming to life. before i head out i wanted to share an exciting launch: the lovely llubav choy duerr just launched her new website, llubav.com. i think i say this every time i mention llubav, but i honestly don’t know many people who are as equally kind and talented as llubav. her work has so much love and thought put into it, and each piece feels like it was custom made for you. along with her flower and hair pins, ornaments, custom felt ring pillows, stationery and felt garlands, llubav also just launched a beautiful collection of lavender sachets, which are available for $26 each at abitare in brooklyn (just give them a call to order). each of the sachets looks like a tiny pair of “hot panties” and are made from linen or felt. in times like these when gifting is a luxury and budgets are low, i can’t think of a sweeter gift (that will also help support a small, independent business). click here to check out llubav’s current collections and contact her about purchasing. also, want to get a peek into llubav’s beautiful brooklyn apartment (and see where the key navigation on her site comes from)? click here to check out her house tour on d*s. monday is president’s day but i’ll be posting as always so until then, have a wonderful weekend! a summary of of this week’s highlights is below…

The right color combination makes me melt. For me, the top right framed felties is pretty much spot on. My heart is currently dripping onto the floor.

You Will love Coraline! We had the most fun seeing it with a family member who worked on the movie, and when the credits came up it was so much fun to hear from spots around the audience family members cheering their spouses, sons, daughters, etc. Being from Portland rather than Hollywood it was kind of a rare and precious experience!!

It’s my first time here, and I’m in love! Both by the designer featured and by the design of the site itself.

Have fun at Coraline – the craftsmanship and effects are stunning. My girlfriend and I were split on the film itself. I scare easily, and found it rather creepy!
