i’m a little sleepy after a late night at the design by the book finale party- thank you to everyone who came out and said hi- it was so cool to put faces to so many online names.
i wanted to start things this morning with these beautiful hand sewn cards from alison shanik of king popcorn on etsy. her friend julia sent her work over and i was instantly taken with it. simple, sweet and different- it’s the perfect way to say something nice on valentine’s day without all of the red, pink and hearts. each embroidered card is $10 and available right here. thanks, julia!

yay! i’m so happy to see alison’s work featured!! she’s the sweetest and her work is absolutely exquisite in person. she even custom made my open/shut sign for my store. i looooove her work.
the contrast of the delicate stitchery and those hefty grommets at the corners is really appealing – beautiful stuff!
so beautiful! I’ve never seen sewn cards and I love the look!
I TOTALLY love these cards.
Gorgeous!
The stitching makes it so elegant.
I’ve always loved the look of sewn cards. Something about the different textures of the stitching and the printing. Really nice!
Oh I’m so bummed! I wanted the “I love our adventures” but they must have sold out already! I’m going to keep my eye on these ;-)
