A hug for who? Not for the poor pig that’s for sure…Sorry to burst the bubble here guys but the production of factory farmed pigs (or any animal for that matter) is not something to be laughed at. Its actually really really cruel and inhumane. But whatever right? as long as it tastes good…

Hi everyone – I have more prints up on the shop, so it’s no longer listed as “sold out” per the link above.

Thanks everyone!!!

just a quick note- i know not everyone is a fan of meat, bacon, or anything involving animals, which i understand.

that said, this print doesn’t say anything about factory farm pigs. in fact, most foodies i know refuse to eat anything other than humanely raised, local pigs. i know i certainly do. so i understand your point, but i wanted to clarify that this print doesn’t imply factory-farmed animals.

I love it! Bacon is the one bad food we can’t give up it’s so tasty!

I actually agree with Sandy – I don’t care if they make that stuff out of newborn babies, it tastes fantastic. Soylent Bacon FTW!!!

I was totally eating some bacon on pizza when I happened to read this post! This print is awesome and it was practically made with me in mind!

DuDe – best poster EVER! I love witty typography.

And piggy-saviour lady – get a grip. Not everyone is going to be vege OR give a rats arse where their food comes from.

Personally I do care about what I eat and what has gone into production, but down off your high horse (or tree limb) – this is a blog for design.

lalalee

LOL if you check out the other items in the Nicodemus Green etsy shop – there’s a “hommus is a hug from allah” poster.
that.is.GOLD!!!! Thanks so much for linking up Grace!

This would be a perfect gift for my husband. He loves skull imagery, and boy does he ever love bacon. Thank you for featuring this!

I understand Sandy’s concern – pigs are the one of the least likely animals to be raised in humane conditions, and yet one of the most intelligent. It’s a cute print and saying, but I understand.

And lalalee, it’s a sad (and false) view of design to think it’s somehow disconnected from daily life and values. It’s all connected, and should be. There’s nothing wrong with a little dissent.

Colleen

Fabulous print, too bad it’s about bacon. Design blog or not, many people think there’s nothing cute about animals dying for human consumption. I will gladly check out the hummus print though.

Sandy

I feel compelled to post this link now, as others are posting their bacon related links. emilykristin is right, in fact 97% of pigs in the U.S are reared on factory farms. I say life, art and design ARE indeed connected and should reflect our values of compassion and care for other living creatures, as well as our sense of humour!

Sad that ART has to be delegated to someone’s soapbox. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but not to force it on others.
I figure if we stumbled into a pig pen, they would not hesitate to eat us.

Andrea

A lot of these items show some great uses of typeface. Well done, sir!

Autumn

Ok, three birthday presents taken care of in one fell swoop. Thank you!

Bec

I’m glad to see that there are some people that actually care about animal cruelty!
Yes cool design, but maccabre message. I know it’s not intended that way, but whether the pigs are factory farmed or not, they still get killed, they still feel pain. Often pigs get shot at close range in the head with a nail gun device. Sorry to be a party pooper.
Oh, and to juliaom – if telling yourself that pigs would eat us if “we stumbled into a pig pen” makes you feel better, I’m a bit concerned…
