i love seeing how inspiration affects people in their homes. this beautiful wall mural comes from d*s reader anastasia of faiella design in san francisco. inspired by an osborne and little textile pattern seen in the hanging light fixture (a custom design by jim misner) this floor to ceiling design is in the foyer of a sunny san francisco home. murals are always such a cool way to customize a space and finding inspiration in textiles is great way to bring patterns to life at home. thanks, anastasia!

Very cool.
Wow, that is GORGEOUS! Well done!
Wow. This is incredible! I especially like how the large pattern was continued up onto the ceiling. The pink ottoman is a nice addition to the space, as well.
Wow!
I love the graphics. Osborn and Little is so inspirational!
This is amazing. I can’t even begin to comprehend what it would take to accomplish that.
Oh! how neat is that! Bold large print all over the wall. Love it! Murals would definitely separate your home from the others:)
Wow! While it’s probably not something I would do in my home, it is quite striking and beautiful.
I love the combination of the large floral with the wide stripe rug. Really nice.
wow!! that’s is bold. not sure many could pull it off, but it looks great in this application!
what a grand space. i love the unexpected scale, macro botanicals surrounding a room. fantastic. and zelda’s exterior below is so clever and inviting. lovely finds, thanks.
SO impressive. I have Marimekko Kukkula bedding and have thought about making a wall mural/stencil using that design. Problem is, I have no idea how to go about doing it! Any advice?
Bold and beautiful!! For Clarity and Grey: to get a pattern like your Marimekko on the wall, you can use an overhead projector then trace and paint it in. I saw it on HGTV :). Good luck!
Absolutely gorgeous. The scale keeps the room looking clean and uncluttered.
That looks beautiful Anastasia! My house may be next… ;)
and what a BEAUTIFUL space it created! beyond cool!
(Commenter Laura’s tip is very cool!)
I don’t think I could live with something this big and bold (as I am rather square and simple) — not to mention my bf would probably veto giant flowers on our walls — but I really like the look!
Wow! I love this, I’ve been trying to think of things to do with our curved ceiling, this might be exactly what I was looking for, thanks.
oh man this is a great idea. maybe one day when we stop renting we can do something like this. i love that it continues on to the ceiling. *FANTASTIC*
What I would do for my entry way to look like that!!!
Thanks Laura!
I’m late to the party but wow! Those walls are gorgeous!
brilliant!
inspiring!
bold and ballsy!
i lalalalove your work.
LOVE! Really well-executed. And I love that you kept the lampshade in the room too.
Love it! I think that would be awesome to have on a wall in my studio.
love this! i am particularly interested in the rug – any chance you can share where it came from?
thanks!
when i become a homeowner i will totally do this
Absolutely gorgeous, it’s big and bold and it TOTALLY works!
Way to go for taking such a big risk–it works!
Very inspiring! I LOVE it!!! ;) Kudos, kudos, kudos! Brave, bold, and very fashionable.
Thanks for this story. It’s gives me great ideas … It’s lovely.
This is an inspiring way to approach a foyer- what a perfect way to welcome someone into your house. This looks like a template for how people can make beautiful, bold and appropriate home design… without wasting a ton of money. If I lived on the West Coast I would hire Anastasia!
Beautiful, great work.
You inspire me for my future.
oh my gosh that is GORGEOUS!!!!! I would so love to live in that space! I’m thinking I need to hire you when I return back to my home and help inspire me!
so lovely!
Really, really fabulous! Thanks for showing how to go big & bold!
Nice :) I love this
Is there a way to get a description of how they actually did it?
Anyways – love it!
