lisa from let betsy sent in this fun before & after. she took an old desk and repainted it, added fabric covered knobs and then was inspired to reupholster her chair to match. she hand-knit a seat cushion for the chair, painted it to match and voila! a brand new desk set. click here for more images and details from lisa.

i really like the coloured handles on the drawers, and the pattern of the fabric that covers them a something special!
This is so fabulous! The seat cover looks so soft and pretty, colors are adorable. Great job.
wow, she hand knit that? very impressive!
Another great reminder of the transforming power of fresh paint! The seat cover is so unique…the fact that lisa knit it herself is even more impressive. So inspiring.
i want this!!
Lovely color! And that seat cushion, so innovative!!
whoa. kudos to lisa on the handknit piece. amazing.
This is great! It’s definitely not my taste for an office, but I can see this fitting in so nicely in a craft room. I might have to steal this idea :)
This is really nice and cute. IT shows there is a gem with almost anything.
Love this! I just tweeted it!
Oh my! I love the cushion made out of sweater. And those knobs are too cute.
Absolutely adorable! I think the knobs are what really make it.
What a terrific idea. Fabric covered knobs, huh? That is such a wonderful idea. I never thought of covering drawer knobs with fabric! Thanks for the inspiration!
I love the fabric-covered knobs! The knit seat cushion is a great touch!
Lordy, I too am in awe of the hand-knit seat. When I first saw the pic, I assumed the pink was thrifty recycled goodness. Lovely, lovely work!
Buttons do make a world of a difference.
danny seo had a great article on his blog about covering chairs with an old sweater. He used earth tones, but the pink is cute!
adorable!
This is EXACTLY the sort of desk I am searching high and low for at the moment. What a transformation! Fantastic!
Love the sweater seat cover!!
This is ADORABLE! I’ve been making things out of old wool sweaters lately—quilts, hats, pillows, etc–but I hadn’t thought of using them to reupholster a chair! (I know she knit this new–but old sweaters would work, too) I just love this makeover!
I love that. What a great look the fabric covered knobs give it!
I love your color choices and the originality in table arrangements at wedding. It’s so fun to see such talent and creativity ! Keep it up!! Miz Wiz (retired teacher 68 years young!!!) The Wiz
Nice! I just re-decorated my office a few months ago. I got most of my stuff from officedesigns.com though. Great site. I like the colors you used too.
