the talented cathrine kullberg recently created a beautiful 10-meter light installation at the emil & samuel restaurant/bar in oslo’s steen & strøm department store. cathrine created this beautiful ceiling and wall installation from wood veneer that’s been laser-cut into forest patterns lit from behind. it seems so warm and glowy- i’d love to sit down for a winter meal under those lights. click here for more images from the project. thanks, steffen!

stunning!
You know, I keep wondering when this trend of outlined trees and owls will wane… I certainly feel like I’ve been seeing it forever, and that it must have jumped the shark by now. But then, I see something fresh and amazing, like this, and just fall in love with it all over again. This is gorgeous, and I want it in my home!
I want access to a laser cut machine so bad. There are so many amazing projects I’ve seen done with them! I wonder if I could find an artists’ collective near me that has one….
wow…beautiful!
Beautiful; thanks for posting! Somehow — paradoxically — Scandinavia seems even more awesome in the winter than usual!
these are amazingly beautiful and brings new light on possibilities and techniques in painting.
GORGEOUS!!! so delicate and light… it’s really beautiful to see those elaborate paper works!
i mean, wood work! :)
Very nice stuff! We specialize in custom laser cutting of wood. Doing really great laser cutting in wood involves much more than access to a laser machine. We can help you create something amazing!
