Nice! Loving the Vase BTW….
I love this.. I get so sad whenever I see people cover their beautiful antique wood furniture with paint!
Finally one where someone didn’t feel the need to paint over the wood! Nice work!
Very fun but classy.
Out of curiosity, could a dark stain be applied to the wood to make its color/tone more even? I’m not saying that’s necessary, just wondering if it’s possible.
love love love that fabric! The chairs are so beautiful!
they look awesome!
fabulous!
HII…love the transformation!! Where is that fabric from…I am in love and looking to redo a few chairs also!
Very nice!
oh I love it. I actually like the modern fabric against the distressed wood.
Wonderful upholstery job, Shelly! For those who are interested in this fabric, it’s available at all the Calico Corners stores across the country or by calling (800) 213-6366. Style SITA in CRANBERRY is $39.99 per yard and is 100% Linen. It’s imported and has a repeat of 6-3/4 inches. You can borrow the fabric to try at home before you buy. Sorry it’s not yet online. And if you’re not into reupholstering, the Calico workrooms will be happy to redo your furniture for you. Thanks!
Very nice- great example of a before & after not requiring paint. I could see these in an Elle Decor or Domino room…
That fabric is AMAZING! I love it.
Wow- love how they came out – always partial to preserving a natural wood color/grain if possible (I second you Savannah) and the fabric choice perfectly compliments the new stain. It looks cutting edge/retro – like it’s from a 1920′s bohemian apt. whose inhabitants have just stepped out to a cocktail swilling brunch.
And also love the wooden folding chair in the back corner – am sitting on a similar one right now which is older than I am and which I will likely bust through at any minute but which I refuse to give up because I love the design, and yup – the color of the wood. Perhaps I should turn it into a magazine rack before I hit the ground though . . .anyway – also love the other chair w. the classic curved back and the green cushion – yeah natural wood grain!! Just makes me relaxed looking at them. Thanks so much for posting!
