emily of sewing notions found this chair (part of a 3-chair set) in the basement of her old home and decided to repaint and upholster them using a colorful amy butler lotus fabric. it goes so well with her pink desk and is a nice reminder that in these tough economic times you can always make something lovely without spending too much money. thanks, emily!

it looks great next to the desk!
Hmmmm, my name’s Emily; does this mean the chair is mine?
Beautiful work.
Wow, who knew those boring, drab old chairs could be made so vibrant and fresh.
Beautiful! I don’t care what other readers say…you can never post too many chair before&afters!
so cute with the pink desk and imac!
I’m not sure I’d love it on its own (not because it’s not pretty but because the pattern just isn’t my personal style) but paired with the desk it look fabulous! Also I think the softer lighting in the second picture is just more flattering. :)
Oh, but no matter what, it’s a HUGE improvement over the Before, and way better than anything I could do myself!
the before and afters you share are always so inspiring!
gorgeous
I agree with Kristan!
I didn’t like it at first but in the third pic the chair looks great!

From blah to beautiful.
I love the before and afters! But seriously, these posts make me feel like I’m the only person out here who has NO idea how to re-upholster a chair. Is it really that easy? Or do I need some sort of training?
So fresh and cute!!
oooooh i LOVE LOVE LOVE this!! what a great job!!
EW. are you kidding me. i cant believe she painted over the natural wood to make it look like something you could get at ikea.
