vintage wallpaper stationery from linda + harriett

i’m always so thrilled to see designers incorporating vintage elements into their work. this beautiful new stationery from liz at linda + harriett uses vintage wallpaper as the envelope liners and is cut and placed by hand. i love the idea that whoever opens them gets such a beautiful surprise on the inside. you can pick up a set of 50 cards right here (with your hand-lettered name at the top). thanks, liz!

those are GORGEOUS. i love adding liners to envelopes – it makes the whole thing so much more special.

I really love the lettering for “stella & patrick” is there a known typeface that replicates it’s cute, handwritten style?

So creative, the use of wallpaper! At first I thought the liner was the beautiful Japanese chiyogami paper, but it’s wallpaper! Brilliant!

Marie – the writing is calligraphy done by hand, a dying art, and then made into a plate for letterpress printing, another dying art. Liz Coulson Libre of Linda & Harriett is the calligrapher/designer. Check out the link in the post.

so pretty! I love stationery – I’m trying to keep the dying art of letter-writing alive!

The price does seem prohibitive, unfortunately — out of my budget, anyway. :(
They are really gorgeous, though! Thanks for sharing them.

Brilliant! I have a roll of vintage wallpaper (easily found on Ebay) that didn’t work for its originally-intended project. Maybe I’ll give something like this a try…. Thanks!

I really like these, but not for $500. Sorry. I understand letterpress items are expensive, but please. I would rather make my own lined envelope and gocco the notecard. Thanks for the link though, they are pretty, and I do enjoy Linda & Harriett. I ,too, have their 08 calendar (which I purchased for under $50).

@ $500 a set, it’s very expensive, and even with letterpress, too expensive in today’s economy.

beautiful idea that anyone can hack, really.

Absolutely stunning. Is that someone’s handwriting?? And yes, the lining is what seals the deal.

OUCH about the price tag, though.

Given the amount of time that goes into letterpress printing cards and hand-lining envelopes (not to mention the calligraphy), the cost doesn’t seem excessive to me, even if I can’t afford it. Such beautiful work!
