Oh, wow! The stenciled fabric is beyond beautiful! What a lovely and personalized touch!
Really lovely!
This is so pretty! It completely revitalizes a really blah chair.
Really Nice! Simple, clean, and well crafted.
Oh my god. That’s unbelievable. I looked at the Before picture and thought, No, nothing can be done to save that. Boy did she prove me wrong! And with such flair.
LOVE the stenciled fabric idea! THANK YOU so much for sharing!
wow!
I wonder what kind of paint she used? I would love to do this to my sofa!
This is such a lovely make-over — understated, and yet so wonderfully artistic.
Wow – that is absolutely incredible! I have to admit, I saw the first picture and was ready to move on to the next blog on my list – didn’t expect anything beautiful could come of that chair.
nice touch with the stencil. a true save.
Thanks so much for the great responses to my chair! Emily Z-
I love the idea of a stenciled couch! I used Jacquard Textile paint. It’s totally washable if you were to do a slipcover. The paint is available in limited colors at some craft stores, but I get my paints through dharmatrading.com.
Thanks again, everyone!
Simply beautiful.
..drools jealously…
what a great recover. it completely remakes this chair and the stenciling is inspired.
That’s quite the transformation – inspirational!
Wow… so elegant, so simple and such a statement…
Is that linen you used ? Do you think it’ll be sturdy enough ? What about stains and all ?
I love this transformation! I think that the colors and pattern are timeless. Thank you for the tutorial as well.
Well, that’s a fun makeover! Love how it turned out.
enjoy.
fabulous!!! talented, talented girl!!
By far one of my favorite transformations! The stencil work is beautiful.
awesome! I want to stencil something now…perhaps that ikea end table…hm..
wow.. amazing transformation! That’s really creative work!
It’s beautiful! Lovely work.
Isn’t Maya something? Love this chair!
That is phenomenal, what a transformation!
Yea for re-purposing! Love the stencil and the finished chair is better than new.
Wow!! Thanks so much everyone, I really appreciate your enthusiasm.
Loora- I did use a lightweight linen. In the tutorial (on my blog) I mention that decorator weight fabric is recommended… but I like to take a little risk sometimes. I’m a linen lover, and the easiness of changing the fabric made me give it a try. I have no regrets. This chair has seen a lot of sitting in only two months, and looks like it will hold up fantastically. As far as stains, I could take the fabric off to wash it. I have two children, but they keep their sticky fingers in the kitchen… no messy food travels in our house. So far so good…
Wow, what a great idea! And thanks for introducing me to her blog!!
Whoa! I love that!
I really like the pattern you added on that beautiful grey linen fabric, it is subtle and sophisticated. Right up my alley, really.
Bravo
I am now inspired to recover my dining chairs. I hope it is as easy as it looks!! Wonderful design.
I love it! Do you know of any really good books on stenciling. I would consider myself a beginner in this subject matter.
Thanks for sharing.
