yesterday i was talking with a friend about new york city newspapers. it seems as though everyone has a favorite- my good friends love the post and i’m a fierce times loyalist but lately i’ve been spending more time checking out the new york observer. and now that they’ve published a new issue of their semi-annual observer home, i’m hooked. the observer home is an 80 page magazine that gets inserted into this week’s paper and is full of gorgeous homes and articles on great local talent. if you’re in city you can pick up a copy this week, or click here to check out the issue online. the images above and below are jonathan adler’s designs for the wegman family. I love how they’ve arranged their books – some horizontal and some vertical – it makes it look more interesting.
Jonathan Adler is a genius. The yellow is so fresh and has such a great contrast with the dark wood. So beautiful.
So many fantastic colours and beautiful patterns. It’s all just so cheery, it would bring a smile to my face waking up to that every day!

are we that hard up for ideas that his recycled 70′s designs is considered interesting. really?

Love the colors, and those pillows on the bed…wonder where they came from? Inspiring. A little unsure about that lamp; it’s fun but the not the type of piece that stands the test of time.
I’m with Jade. REALLY? another one liner from Jonathan Adler: arguably clever, arguably chic; the look is now, but by next week, it will look tired and old.
It might be tired to some, but I think Jonathan Adler has had a career for a few years now, right? Obviously it’s not old for most people. It’s certainly not everyone’s taste though.
Whoa, I like yellow for the accent colors, but otherwise I think it’s too much print patterns for me…
The faux bamboo chairs just kill me, I love them so much!

i wish so badly mr adler would get on here and throw some words at people.. haha.. so fun…
anyho..
i like the dining room/study he put together… i know we knock him for doing the ‘same thing’ but if you saw this room you would KNOW that he did it.. and lets face it.. he is very good at what he does..

I like it, but I thought it might be the artist “Wegman” and was relieved to see it was “Wagman.” I don’t see this as artist’s home.
does the observer feature fresher spaces than this one? I mean, I’ve seen this one a million times for years, including in Adler’s book that has been out for quite some time. I love this apartment, but it’s been featured to death (especially the shelves in the dining room), whereas in the times I often see spaces I haven’t seen before.
Don’t get me wrong; I worship Jonathan Adler, but if a media outlet wants my attention, they need to feature his latest design that I haven’t seen twenty times.
