Jennifer Muskopf

We can’t recall where we first ran across her work but when we saw her Clive & Sunshine sculptures we knew we had to track this talent down. After a little investigating we discovered that Clive & Sunshine was the work of artist Jen Muskopf. When you look at one of her animals it’s hard to believe that all of this detail has been hand sculpted and stitched with such precision. The patterns are designed to capture the animal in it’s natural stance. Whether it be a cheetah on the prowl or a spring buck drinking from a creek. With every stitch her creatures come to life. Jens talents go well beyond that of soft sculptures (as if that’s not enough) she is also a brilliant painter.

New to San Francisco, Jen headed west only a month ago from North Carolina. Lucky for us, we can now include her in our California favorites. This certainly isn’t Jen’s first move… She has done quite a bit of traveling with her anthropologist husband and young daughter. They have lived everywhere from Boston to Brooklyn to Barbados with plenty of other stops in between. Now that’s our kinda girl!

When asked what she liked about living on the West Coast so far she answered, “I am very happy to have landed here myself and love the fresh sea air, electronic buses, curbside compost and totally diverse, totally accepting population. I am happy my daughter gets to grow up in a place with so many different kinds of people, all getting along. We plan to make California our family’s home.
