celine spring 2009

as the weather cools down and i start to pull wool blankets out from the closet i’m feeling the need to surround myself with bright colors and reminders that it won’t always be this cold and grey. and for that reason, celine’s 2009 spring collection is a breath of fresh air. all of these images were on the new york magazine website this week and if you need a little pick me up, click here to check out the full collection. it’s a gorgeous symphony of blues and bright yellow.

speaking of new york magazine, i curated a big roundup of great wedding registry ideas (below) for their wedding issue, on stands now. it’s a fun list of products you can find in stores in nyc (and online if you’re outside of the city)- perfect for newly engaged couples or anyone else looking for great new home goods.

Is that colorful vase from Spiral Foundation? made from rolled up plastic wrappers in Nepal? I love collections of interesting odd things like these…

Could you make the images bigger, with website link attached, or a list. I would love to see them up close and know where to buy :)!!

Grace, I love visiting your blog and I am always on the lookout for your suggestions and introduction of the world design. While I was going to work yesterday, seeing your interview in the paper was totally surprising… I was always curious as how your apt would look like, since you have so many great ideas.. It was nice to see a glimpse of your place wt AC.

Also as an ex-Park Slope resident, I envy you.. I wish to be back there one day.

G”luck!

Oh, you just reminded me of my very favorite Celine moment – when Michael Kors designed Rene Russo’s clothes in The Thomas Crown Affair under the Celine moniker. They are still unbelievable outfits today, and Rene totally rocked them!

oops, a P.S. I’m with you on the unique wedding gifts – buying someone a $120 knife from Crate and Barrel just seems so unromantic! I find places like momastore to be the best sources. If I’m giving a glass vase, the only one it’s going to be is a classic Aalto vase. I also love to give beautiful first edition books about a topic I know the couple is interested in. One of my favorite sources is ABCD Books in Camden Maine.
