I’ve really been loving Jeana’s blog lately as well. It’d be great to see a sneak peek from her.

What a lovely post Grace. I have admired Valerie’s work for a while now. It reminds me of the work of Kiki Smith, who is one of my all time greatest inspirations. I read somewhere that the two artists are friends?

I absolutely love, love these images. I collect gloves and find hands to be incredibly expressive. These are lovely.
Thanks for the inspiration!

the hands in the first image are beautiful – I’d love to have a print of that in my home. Do you know what medium this is?

{Heather} Kiki and Valerie are very close friends. In fact, they teach a bunch of classes together. I was lucky enough to be in one of them. Obviously this post made me positively giddy. Valerie’s work is even more wonderful in person, and she herself is a gem.

{san smith} It’s a relief printed lithograph. Valerie has been making originals with plants from her house upstate (on the garson baker site, the green on offwhite paper), and then using that to make a photo litho, printing in light ink on that amazing kozo paper.

These are amazing images. I have seen the works in person and they are even more illusive and eerily beautiful then. I look forward to hearing more from Valerie Hammond

I have always been an admirer of Valerie’s beautiful work. She is truly a very talented artist.
