Intelligentsia

Good coffee takes time and the coffee at Intelligentsia is definitely worth the wait. We’re not the only ones who think so which is apparent by the huge line of locals that usually wraps around the corner.

Sure, the lines can get long but we wait in them everyday… often twice a day. We admit, we were a tad skeptical when we heard yet another coffee house was opening last year but Intelligentsia is so much more than your average corner coffee shop. Not only is it the best tasting but also the most beautiful cup of coffee we’ve ever had.

One of our favorite Baristas, Jared, always makes sure our lattes & cappuccinos are just as pretty as the last. We’d love to know the secret behind their latte art and we watch intently as each cup is poured. So far… no such luck!

Owner Doug Zell was drawn to L.A for the culture and commitment to sustainability. He knew the city would not only embrace their commitment to making great coffee but also the commitment to doing it in a responsible and progressive way.

Since this is a design blog we should also mention that the space was designed by Los Angeles architect Barbara Bestor.
