starting october 5th, the brooklyn flea will be showcasing fantastic furniture from local brooklyn, nyc and vermont designers. organized by greenjeans, the fall furniture festival (every sunday through the end of october) will include a wide range of chairs, tables, stools, end tables and other pieces created by participating designers. as always, the collection will include as many eco-friendly pieces as possible, and will be newly built- just in time for the first visitors at the flea. uhuru (see their sneak peek here!), city joinery, nightwood (whose incredible work is shown above and below- love them!), smc, brave space and many, many more will be showing as part of the furniture festival so click here to check out the full line up and get directions.
it’s going to be a great chance to meet and support local independent artists so if you’re looking to add some new furniture to your home this fall, drop by the flea every sunday in october! click here for more info.

i love the idea of local furniture artisans, i – wish i could be there – i always planned when i finally get my “real place” i’ll get my tables custom by local carpenters/ metalworkers, but…
is it just me, or do some of those chairs look unfinished?
these are beautiful! grace, do you have any idea what the price points are for tables?

Does anyone know where I could find the photo of the girl in the water?
I love these photos and the spirit of the furniture. And I REALLY wish someone would do this in Seattle.
I can’t help but think that some of those upholstered chairs would NOT get rave reviews in comments if they were a before and after. Just sayin’…
oh my!! the last green chair with the worn paint is so beautiful! Dibs.
Gosh I wish I lived in Brookln instead of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Loved the piece in the NY Times, btw- your picks were my favorites, and you looked fabulous. Where did you get that gorgeous scarf?!
