i’m digging these interiors from a new san francisco group called em design interiors. they have a full portfolio online right here but my favorite is this guest bedroom from the san francisco decorator’s showcase. so swank. [thanks, emily!]

[update: the showhome above and below was designed by steven miller design studio, where emily was working at the time of the project. photos by matthew millman]

AWESOME blog. thank you.

any idea how you make those “half circl-y” borders?

curtains! curtains! ack, I need a source for curtains. I need lined curtains with nice fabric options, in a custom length for not 10 gazillion dollars. any ideas?

that makes any room look expensive! can’t wiat to try it on my next apartment. my current one has that disgusting speckled texture.

OH, to have a room big enough for the defined panels. By the way those can be done easily with tape and there are many stencils out there for the corners.

thanks Catherine!

but using tape for rounded corners has never been an easy thing for me (aka not working-at-all! ;) )

care to link me to a few corner-stencils?

This is, indeed, a room that I designed for the 2007 San Francisco Decorator Showcase benefiting the University High School. Emily worked for me during this time and contributed but did not design the room.

I have to say when I saw these pictures I was really confused. I used to share office space with STEVEN MILLER and I am very familiar with his work. I recognized immediately that this was his project for the SF showhouse. It is a fine line when you work for someone what you contribute and what is your work. Personally, I would strongly suggest that Em post a note on her site that she worked on these projects,( there are multiples on her site), in conjunction with Steven. As a independent designer I know how hard it is to branch out on your own but slow and steady is sometimes the most respectable way to go.

I’ve gotta agree with Adrienne. This is one of my favorite rooms from that Showcase and I think most people who saw it will instantly recognize these photos as Steven Miller’s work. So it may give off a weird initial impression if someone else is implying it’s their design.

interesting. i have two fake painted panels just like those in nearly the same color in my room. have been eyeing a bed like that too. not too into the rest of it but it’s a nice post.

I too am drooling over the curtains – I’ve been looking for the perfect window coverings for my all-white room, and this pattern is perfect. Anyone have a source?

TO CLARIFY…
I am NOT trying to pass this project off as a source originating from em design interiors. I contributed to this project while I was a design associate with Steven Miller Design Studio. I clearly stated that information to the originator of this blog and on my site. I have NO control over what is posted here and the details that were included (and left out) of the original post. Thanks! -Emily
